Considering today's inexpensive, yet high quality video cameras, powerful notebook computers, advanced video editors, and free video hosting web sites such as YouTube and Vimeo, it has become easy even for non-technical users to become video directors/producers. For Linux and open source enthusiasts there are a number of great options as well. Free video editors for Linux, such as Kino, Cinelerra, and Avidemux have been around for a while.
